A can finish a work in 18 days and B in 36 days. If they work on it together for 9 days, then what percent of work is left ?

Solution:

According to the question,
A’s 1 day work

=1/18

and B’s 1 day work =

1/36

∴ -.(A + B)'s 1 day work

= {1}/{18}+ {1}/{36}= {2+1}/{36}= {3}/{36}= {1}/{12}

and (A + B)’s 9 day's work

=9 × {1}/{12}= {3}/{4}

Rest of the work

=1-\ {3}/{4}= {1}/{4}

∴ Required percentage

=1/4×100=25%
