The sum of two numbers is 36 and their HCF and LCM are 3 and 105 respectively. The sum of the reciprocals of two numbers is :-

Solution:

As 3 is

\ {\HCF},

so let numbers are

3 \ {a}

and

3 \ {b}

ATQ ,

3 a+3 b=36

a+b=12

.....(i)
LCM of

3 a

and

3 b

is 105

\⇒3 a b=105

.....(ii)
Divide (i) by (ii), we get

\ {a+b}/{3 a b}=\ {12}/{105}

\⇒\ {1}/{3 a}+\ {1}/{3 b}=\ {4}/{35}
