Solution:

Let total amount be Rs. x.
According to the question,

x/2+x/3

+ 1200 = x
⇒ x -

x/2 - x/3

= 1200
⇒

{6x-3x-2x}/6

= 1200
⇒

x/6

= 1200 ⇒ x = 1200 × 6
= Rs. 7200
∴ A’s share = Rs.

({1200}/2)

= Rs. 3600
