Solution:

(a) As

r=10 {\cm}

,Total surface area of a cylinder

=2 π r h+2 πr^2

Curved surface area of a cylinder

=2 πr h

∴ Difference

=2 πr h+2 π r^2-2 πr h

=2 πr^2=2 π×10^2 {\cm}^2=200 π {\cm}^2
