Solution:

(a) Total volume of three iron cubes
=

6^3+8^3+10^3

216+512+1000=1728 \cm^3

So, volume of new cube

=1728 \cm^3

∴ Side of new cube

=∛1728

= ∛{12 ×12 ×12}

=12 \cm

So, the edge of the new cube

=12 \cm
