A pack of chocolates is divided among three friends, Amar, Akbar and Anthony in the ratio 3 : 4 : 5 respectively. If Akbar gets 50 chocolates more than Amar, then how many does Anthony get?

Solution:

(4) Let the total number of chocolates be x.
According to the question,

{4 x}/{12}- {3 x}/{12}=50

⇒{x}/{12}=50

⇒x = 12 × 50 = 600

∴ Anthony’s share

= {5}/{12} × 600=250
