(4) Swayamsidha scheme is an integrated women empowerment programme (IWEP) that was launched by the government in 2001. It was initiated by merging Mahila Samriddhi Yojana and recasting Indira Mahila Yojana (IMY). The scheme aims to empower the Indian women both socially and economically to enable them live with dignity and self-reliance.
