Solution:

(2) Area of the four walls = 2h(l + b) = (2 × 4)(3 + 5) = 64 m

∵ There are doors and windows on the wall, therefore, area of the walls to be painted
= Total area of walls – total area of doors and buildings
= [64 – 2(3 × 2) – 4(1 × 2)] m

= 44 m

∴ Total cost of painting = 44 × 32= ₹ 1408
