Solution:

(d) C.P. of 9 articles

= { 100 }/ { 96 } = ₹{ 25 } /{ 24 }

∴ S.P. for a gain of 44 %

= { 25 }/ { 24 } × { 144 } /{ 100 } = ₹{ 3 } /{ 2 }

∴ Required number of articles

= 9 × { 2 }/ { 3 } = 6
