Solution:

(a) Volume of water flowing from the pipe in 1 minute

= \π \×0.25 \×0.25 \× 1000

cu.cm.
Volume of conical vessel

= { 1 } /{ 3 } \π \×15× 15 × 24

cu.cm.
∴ Required time

= { \π× 15× 15× 24 }/ { 3 \π× 0.25 × 0.25 × 1000 }

= 28 minutes 48 seconds
