(b) Total distance = 100 km.
Total time

= { 50 }/{ 50 } + { 40 }/ { 40 } + { 10 }/ { 20 }

= 1 + 1 + { 1 }/ { 2 } = { 5 }/ { 2 }

= { 100 ×2 } /{ 5 } = 40
