When a light ray travelling from a denser medium to the rarer medium, the angle of incidence becomes greater than critical angle, and the light rays reflected back into the denser medium. It’s called the total internal reflection. Example: Mirage, Shining of air bubbles in water, optical fibre, diamond sparkling.
