I.

x^{2}-(16)^{2}=(23)^{2}-56

II.

{y}^{1{/}3}-55+376=(18)^{2}

if x ≤ y

Solution:

I.

x^{2}-(16)^{2}=(23)^{2}-56

or

x^{2}-256=529-56

∴ x=√{729}=± 27

II.

y^{1{/} 3}-55+376=(18)^{2}

or

y^{1{/}3}=324+55-376

∴ y=(3)^{3}=27

∴ y ≥ x
