There are 1000 trees on a road. A person marks from 1 to 1000 on them. Find the number of zero.

Solution:

10,20,30...........1000 have 100 zeros
and 101,102........201, 202, 909 have 8 zeros.
and 100, 200, ........900 have 9 zeros.
and 1000 has 3 zeros but since 1 zero is already counted
so here we count only 2 zeros.
Therefore total no of zeros,

100+81+9+2=192
