(3) The Government of India Act 1935 was originally passed in August 1935. It is said to have been the longest (British)Act of Parliament ever enacted by that time. This Act granted a large measure of autonomy to the provinces of British India, ending the system of dyarchy introduced by the Government of India Act 1919.
