(3) Late rite soils are suitable for plantation crops like tea,coffee, rubber, cinchona, coconut,etc. These soils are rich in iron and aluminium. They are formed by intensive and long-lasting weathering of underlying parent rock. They are distributed on the hills of peninsular India, in eastern Ghat region of Orissa, parts of Assam and central India.
