Solution:

1/5\; of\;45x – 1/3 \;of \;17x = 15

⇒9x – {17x}/3= 15

⇒{27x –17x}/3= 15 ⇒ 10x = 15 × 3

⇒ x ={15 ×3 }/10=9/ 2

∴ The required number

= 17x ={17 ×9 }/2=153/2 =76 1/2
