Solution:

(b) Given that,

x +1/y = 1

⇒xy + 1 = y ...(i)

and

y +1/z= 1

⇒1– 1/z= y

⇒{z –1}/z= y ...(ii)

From eq. (ii),

y ={z- 1}/z

Comparing eqn. (i) with (ii)

xy + 1 ={z -1}/z

⇒ xyz + z = z – 1

⇒xyz = – 1
