Solution:

(a) ∴ Volume of pipe,

V =π (r^ 2_1- r^ 2_2)× h

= 22 /7[(3.5)^2 (2.5)^2 ] ×140

=22/7 (12.25 6.25) ×140

= 22 × 6 × 20 = 2640 cu cm
