Mr. Prasad travelled equal distances at speeds of 2 km/ hr., 4 km/hr., and 6 km/hr., and took a total of 55 minutes to complete. Find the total distance he travelled, in km.

Solution:

∴Time= \text"Distance"/\text"Speed"

∴=Time = 55 minute
According to question,

55/60=d/2 +d/4 +d/6

= 55/60=\text"6d+3d+ 2d"/\text"12"

d + d +60 12d d + d

⇒ 55/60= {11d}/12⇒d= 55 /60×12/111

km
∴Total distance travelled by him = 3d = 3 × 1 = 3 km.
