One-third of Ramesh’s marks in Arithmetic is equal to half his marks in English. If he gets 150 marks in the two subjects together, how many marks has he got in English?

Solution:

(a)

1/3A =E/2

⇒A/3- E/ 2

⇒ 2A – 3E = 0 ...(i)

A + E = 150 ...(ii)

From equations (i) and (ii)
E = 60
