(4) The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, on 29 July 2016, approved the re-appointment of Mittal as Chairman,Railway Board, for a period of two years, till he attains the age of 62 years, with effect from August 1, 2016. Mittal was appointed to the top post in Railways Ministry in place of Arunendra Kumar, who had superannuated on December 31, 2014.
