A fruit seller sells mangoes at the rate of ₹ 9 per kg and thereby loses 10%. At what price per kg should he sell in order to earn a profit of 5%?

Solution:

(2) S.P. =₹ 9
L% = 10%
Let C.P. be x
⇒ x = 9 +

10x/100

⇒{ 90 x } /{ 100 } = 9

⇒ x = { 100 } /{ 10 }⇒ x = 10

i.e, C.P.=₹ 10.
For 5 % profit ,
S.P. =10 ×

105 /100

= ₹ 10.5
