Two positive integers are in the ratio of 3 : 4. If the product of the two numbers is 1728, what is the value of the greater number?

Solution:

(3) Let the integer be x,Ratio = 3:4Product =1728,
Hence, 3x × 4x = 1728
⇒ 12

x^2

= 1728
⇒x = 12 ( It is a positive integer)
The greater number =12 × 4 = 48.
