15 persons can complete a work in 60 days. If the number of persons is increased by 5, how many days earlier will the work get completed?

Solution:

(3) If 15 men can complete thework in 60 days, then let 20 mencomplete the work in x days.

M _ { 1 } D _ { 1 } = M _ { 2 } D _ { 2 }

\⇒ 15 \× 60 = 20 \× x

\⇒ 15 \×3 = x

\⇒ x = 45

So, the work will complete 60 – 45= 15 days earlier.
