Solution:

(3) Let total amount of bill = x

∵3/5

So, rest part

= 1–3/5=2/5

∴ From question,

2/5of x = ₹ 400

⇒2/5= ₹ 400

∴ x = ₹{400 ×5}/2

∴x = ₹ 1000
