What will principal amount be ₹496 in 6 years at the rate of simple interest of 4% per annum ?

Solution:

(1) Let principle = x,
time = 6 years, rate = 4%
amount = ₹496
∴ Interest

={Principle× time× rate}/100

⇒ 496 – x ={x.6 ×4}/100

⇒ 496 × 100 – 100x = 24x

⇒ 496 × 100 = 124x

∴x ={496 ×100}/124₹= 400
