Let total age of family be S years 3 years ago, total age

= S – 3 × 5 = S – 15

{S-15}/5=17

S = 17 × 5 + 15 = 100

Let present age of baby be x years

{S+x}/6=17

100 + x = 17 × 6

x = 102 – 100 = 2

years
