Let present age of father = x
present age of son = y
According to question,
$\mathit{x}+\mathit{y}=90$.....(i)
Now,
$\frac{\mathit{x}-10}{\mathit{y}-10}=\frac{5}{2}$
$2\mathit{x}-20=5\mathit{y}-50$
$2\mathit{x}-5\mathit{y}=-30$......(ii)
from eq. (i) and (ii)
$\mathit{x}=60$
$\mathit{y}=30$
∴ The present age of mother = 60 years
