Solution:

Let the numbers be

n – 2, n – 1, n, n + 1

and

n +2.

Their average = n.
Next two consecutive numbers are n + 3 and n + 4.
Therefore the average of 7 consecutive numbers

={(n-2)+(n-1)+n+(n+1)+(n+2)+(n+3)}/7

={5n+2n+7}/7=n+1
