Solution:

Given AD = 9 cm BE = 12 cm

Here AD and BE Intersect at O (AD ⊥ BE)

∴ ∠AOB=90°

AO=2/3×AD=2/3×9=6 cm

OB=2/3×BE=2/3×12=8cm

AB=√{(AO)^2+(OB)^2}

=√{(6)^2+(8)^2}

=√{36+64}

=10cm
