(1) When a bus suddenly starts, the passengers in the bus, sitting or standing tend to fall backwards .This is due to inertia of rest. When the bus suddenly starts, the lower part of the body of passengers which is in contact with the bus moves along with the bus while their upper part tends to retain its state of rest due to inertia that is why the passengers falls in the opposite direction.
