(3) According to the law of gravitation, the force of attraction between any two objects of masses m1 and m2 is proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of distance R between them, F = G$\frac{{\mathit{m}}_1{\mathit{m}}_2}{{\mathit{R}}^2}$ From the above equation we see that, the force of gravitation between two bodies depends on the gravitationa constant, distance between them and product the masses of bodies but not on the sum of their masses.
