(4) Kaiga Thermal Power Plant is situated at Kaiga in Karnataka. The plant is operated by the Nuclear Power Corporation of India and became operational in March 2000. Kaiga is now the third largest nuclear plant in India, first and second being the Tarapur (1,400MW) and the Rawatbhata (1,180MW), respectively.
