Silver in an alloy = 117 gm
Concept:
To convert percentage into fraction divide it by 100
37.5% = 37.5/100 = 3/8
It means 3 part of the alloy is silver out of 8 part
Calculation:
According to question:
3 units = 117 gm
⇒ 1 unit = 39
⇒ 8 units = 39 × 8 = 312 gm
∴ Other elements in an alloy = 312 – 117 = 195 gms
