Solution:

(2) Let the third number be a, Second number will be 3a And, the first number will be 6a. Now, average of three numbers is,

{a+3a+6a}/3

= 20 ⇒ a = 6
Sum of largest and smallest numbers is a + 6a = 7a = 42.
