A right circular cylindrical jar with a radius of 14 cm has some water. If a solid spherical ball of radius

is dropped in the jar and the ball is fully submerged, then calculated the approximate rise in the height of the water level in the jar.

Solution:

Volume of spherical ball = Volume of water displaced.

4/3\π×\R^3=\π×\r^2×\h

⇒4/3\π×(5.6)^3=\π×14^2×\h

∴\h=1.2\cm
