$5\mathit{x}-20=3\mathit{y}-12$
$5\mathit{x}-3\mathit{y}=-12+20$
$5\mathit{x}-3\mathit{y}=8$ .....(i)
Also after 6 years,
$\frac{\mathit{x}+6}{\mathit{y}+6}=\frac{4}{5}$
$\Rightarrow 5\mathit{x}-4\mathit{y}=-6$ .....(ii)
By substrating Equation (ii) from equation(i), we will get y = 14
