Solution:

can do the work in

=1.5

days
A alone

=2.625

days.
B's one day work

={1}/{1.5}-{1}/{2.625}={1}/{0.28}

{B}

can do whole work in

=3.5

days
Let 'A' work for

x

days and

{B}

work for 2 days.

{2}/{3.5}+{x}/{2.625}=1

x=1.125

Hence, A left the work

=2-1.125=0.875

before completion of work.
