\tan \α=\√{3}+2

So,

\cot \α={1}/{\√{3}+2}

\{\∵ \cot \α={1}/{\tan \α}\}

\tan \α-\cot \α=(\√{3}+2)

-{1}/{(\√{3}+2)}

={(\√{3}+2)^{2}-1}/{(\√{3}+2)}={(6+4 \√{3})}/{(\√{3}+2)}

Multiplying and dividing by

(\√{3}-2)

=\ {(6+4 \√{3})}/{(\√{3}+2)} {(\√{3}-2)}/{(\√{3}-2)}=2 \√{3}
