Solution:

Total distance travelled

=25+15=40 \ { m}

Total time taken

=4+2=6 \ {sec}

Average speed

=?

Average speed = Total Distance/Total time

=40 / 6=6.67 \ { m} \/ {s}^{-1}

Therefore the average speed of an object is

6.67 { m} \/ {s}^{-1}
