Solution:

Let the number be x
According to the question:

\;{3 x}/{4}=\;{3 x}/{14}+150

⇒ \;{3 x}/{4}-\;{3 x}/{14}=150

⇒ 21 x-6 x=150 × 28

⇒ 15 x=150 × 28

∴ x=10 × 28=280
