The length and breadth of a rectangle is in the ratio of 3 : 1. If its perimeter is 96 m, then what is the length of the rectangle ?

Solution:

\;\text " Length "\; \& \;\text " breadth "\;=3 {x}: {x}

\;\text " it's peremeter "\;=2(ℓ+ {b})=96

2(3 {x}+ {x})=96

2(4 x)=96

\;\; 8 x=96, x=12

∴ \;\text " Length "\;=12 × 3=36 {m}
