From the question,
$75\mathit{x}+55\left(5-\mathit{x}\right)=300$
$75\mathit{x}+275-55\mathit{x}=300$
$20\mathit{x}=25$
$\mathit{x}=\frac{25}{20}=\frac{5}{4}$ hour
