Solution:

(b) Rest part = 1 -

(1/3+1/6)=1/2

Rate % per annum on total sum
=

( { 1 }/ { 3 } × 3 )

( { 1 } /{ 6 } × 6 )

( { 1 }/ { 2 } × 8 )

= 6 %
∴ P =

{600 ×100 } /{ 6 × 2 }

= ₹ 5,000
