Solution:

Tricky Method
Percentage increase in the length of rectangle = 50%
and percentage decrease in the breadth of rectangle = 50%
∴ Percentage increase or decrease in the area of the rectangle

% = – 25%
Since negative (–) sign indicate decrease.
Hence, the area will decrease by 25%.
