Crosstalk refers to the unwanted transfer of signals between communication channels. UTP is more susceptible to cross talk than STP as the latter also has alayer of metal foil or mesh shielding around all the pairs or each individual pair. Coaxial cable is also vulnerable to some electromagnetic interference as currentdoes cut across the conductor. Fiber optics are immune to crosstalk since signals are transmitted as light instead of current.
