A system unit is that part of a computer which has the primary devices that perform operations and produce results for complex calculations. It includes themotherboard, CPU, RAM etc. This unit performs the majority of the functions that a computer is required to do. The difference between the CPU and theSystem unit is that a CPU is contained in the system unit along with other essential hardware.
