Directions: In each of the questions below consists of a question and two statements numbered I and II below it. You have to decide whether the data providedin the statements are sufficient to answer the question. Read both the statements and answer the given questions.
How many children are there in between Parul and Priya in a row of children?Statements:
I. Parul is fifteenth from the left in the row.
II. Priya is exactly in the middle and there are eight children towards her right.

I alone is sufficient while II alone is not sufficient
II alone is sufficient while I alone is not sufficient
Either I or II is sufficient
Both I and II together are sufficient

Validate

Solution:

I. Parul is fifteenth from the left in the row.
Parul is 15th from the left
II. Priya is exactly in the middle and there are eight children towards her right.
Priya being in the middle, there are 8 children to her right as well as to her left. So, Priya is

9^{th}

from the left.
From statement I we see Parul is

15^{th}

from left. So, there are 5 children between them.
Hence, 'Both I and II together are sufficient' is the correct answer.
