Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act provides a robust legal framework for protecting children against sexual offences, providing stringent punishment to offenders, assigning duties to be followed by the police in such case and procedure adopted during the trial.
The act came in to force on 14th November 2012 (children's day) and consist of IX chapters divided into 46 section.
This act is implemented by the Ministry of Women and Child Development
